1 pkg yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1 cup skim milk, scalded
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp shortening
1 tsp salt
3 1/2 cups flour
1 egg
Soften yeast in warm water. Combine milk, sugar, shortening and salt; cool to lukewarm. Add
1 cup of the flour; beat well. Beat in softened yeast and egg. Gradually add remaining flour to form a soft dough, beating
well. Cover and let rise in warm place until double (1-1 1/2 hours). Turn out on lightly floured board and shape as desired.
Let rise until nearly doubled. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.
