Hamburger & Cabbage Bake

Please note that the portion shown is actually a

double portion--so it is 1/2 the recipe (and I used venison)

I got this recipe from my friend Melanie.
 
8 oz lean ground beef, turkey or venison
1/2  onion, chopped
1/4 cup instant long grain rice
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/8 cup water
2 cups shredded cabbage
1/2 can tomato soup, condensed
 
Preheat oven to 400.  Brown meat and onion until brown; drain. Stir in rice, salt, pepper, soup and water. Mix shredded cabbage and meat together. Place in ungreased casserole dish. Cover and bake 45 minutes.
 
1/4 (w/lean ground beef)=235 calories/13 g. fat/2 g. fiber
1/4 (w/lean ground turkey)=167 calories/5 g. fat/2 g. fiber
1/4 (w/ground venison)=154 calories/2 g. fat/2 g. fiber
